You probably thought (or maybe hoped) that I was going to share about some magic weight loss pills or something. Perhaps unfortunately, I don’t have that kind of magic bullet. But I did find something that is helping me with my 2010 goals.
Thanks to Lifehacker, I found HabitForge. This site is sooo cool! Because “they” say that it takes 21 days to form a habit, the site is set up to track your goals for 21 days. You sign up, log in, and enter each goal. It lets you name the goal, fill in what you want it to ask at your “checkpoints,” categorize the goal, etc. Then it sends you an email each day that you can click on to check off whether or not you accomplished that goal the day before.
If you check “no,” it resets to day 1 for that particular goal. If you check yes, it tells you how many consecutive days you’ve kept up with that goal, and how many days you have left to get to 21. (I don’t know what it does when you get to 21 days, because I haven’t been using it for that long yet!)
This is very, very easy to use! Two features that are apparently in the works are the ability to set which days of the week a goal applies (great for things like my exercise; I don’t exercise on Sundays, on purpose), and the ability to choose how long you want to track a goal. (This will be very handy for some of my 101/1001 goals.) Give it a try! You can track as few or (as far as I know) as many goals as you like at a time. This has been working for me.
