Real Food Face-Off
January 19, 2010If you haven’t yet found Kitchen Stewardship, head on over there just as soon as you finish reading this post.
Katie writes about Real Food and other healthy living topics (healthy cleaners, for instance), and she does it both thoroughly and without making her readers feel guilty or “beat over the head” about “steps” they just haven’t gotten to yet.
Right now, she’s hosting this really cool Real Food Face-Off. What that means is that she has asked for other real food fans to participate, and those of us who jumped on the bandwagon are being paired up. Twice a week, Katie pairs up a couple of us and shares our answers to some questions about our real food kitchens/lifestyles. Today it’s my turn!
After reading the answers from the first week, I feel boring. lol I’m not funny or witty (usually) or even so “completely” a real foodist that I feel especially authoritative. My answers sound boring to me. But, hey, that really is me – straightforward, black-and-white, take-it-at-face-value. And hopefully my attempts to balance eating whole foods with the practical aspects of living in a real family with real time limitations, on a budget, will be helpful to someone!
This is not a “food blog”; I write about a variety of things here. If you want to read more about my views on food, check out the “Kitchen, Cooking, & Recipes” category and/or the “Health & Safety” category in the right sidebar. If you want to see what we really eat, the majority of our “tried and true” recipes are on my recipe blog (for easier browsing/searching). I don’t think I’ve ever written a post that just spells out our nutritional philosophy in general. I guess I need to!
My partner is Wardeh at GNOWFGLINS. That fantastic-sounding word stands for God’s Natural, Organic, Whole Foods, Grown Locally, In Season. Wardeh has lots of great posts. Go check it out – and consider submitting a question for her new question-and-answer series.
(Also check out my giveaway that will be going up later this morning. It should particularly appeal to you real food fans.

Followed the link over here from Kitchen Stewardship! Loved reading about the faceoff, it’s neat to see someone else who avoids unclean meats. We seem to be few and far between!
