Organizer/Planner Systems

There may be more planner types out there but these are all that I'm aware of. If you know of a planner that is very different than anything listed here please let me know so I can add it. I have been honest here about what I disliked about these systems because you usually don't hear much about them from that angle; you can already find lots of testimonials from people who use them and like them. Those systems that I've used, you can assume that I liked in every aspect other than what I specifically mentioned. My goal here is for you to be able to make an informed decision.

SIDETRACKED HOME EXECUTIVES

Also known as "The Slob Sisters," these naturally disorganized sisters got fed up with being disorganized and created a plan. They use 3x5 index cards in a file box. The box started out with only household and other daily tasks but they now use them for journaling, gift ideas, and a whole host of other things as well. They have books that will walk you through the system, which are available at most libraries. Personally, I liked the principles behind the system but disliked a couple things about the method. I didn't like not being able to see at a glance everything that I needed to do (I'm not good at seeing the big picture without having it laid out for me.) and I didn't like that the system really wasn't portable.

SHE's in Touch - This is their official website. Their books are available there, as well as further information about the system, printable forms, etc. I think there's a bulletin board, too. There are several unofficial sites on the web which you should be able to find by doing a search for "sidetracked hom
