Recipe: Decongestant/Expectorant

(hubby calls it “Radish Juice”),  from a friend

Ingredients

  • 1 c. honey
  • 1 c. lemon juice
  • 5-7 radishes
  • 1 sm. red onion
  • 6 garlic cloves

Instructions

  1. Blend (in blender) and strain. Discard the sludge and use the juice.
  2. Adults: 2 Tbsp. once a day or more as needed
Children: 1 Tbsp. once a day or more as needed

The original instructions said that it “will take less than 24 hours to begin expelling,” but several of us noticed almost immediate results. It behaves similarly to guaifenesin in over-the-counter cough and cold medicines, breaking up/loosening the congestion so that your coughs (or nose blows) are more productive.
